The current research topics at the Cryolab are in the fields of heat transport in He II, the heat transfer at the interaction between the He II bath and magnet coils or cavity surfaces, and the heat transfer at ultra-low temperature:
- Heat transfer studies at dielectric metal interfaces at ultra-low temperatures T<300 mK
- Cryocooler based remote cooling circuits
- Heat transport studies in confined cable geometries of superconducting NbTi and impregnated Nb3Sn coil samples
- Localization of Quench hot spots at SRF cavity surfaces and thin film to substrate interaction, He II 2nd sound propagation and detection
- Cryogenics for a liquid Krypton purity monitor
- HL-LHC beam screen thermal performance validation
- Cryogenic Current Comparator BCCCA “zero boil off” cryostat
- Glass cryostat for He I / He II studies
- Development of High-Density signal Feedthroughs for Noble Liquid Calorimeters
